SAPURA will play no part in the Malaysia Junior Hockey League (MJHL) from Jan 10-March 4 as they will concentrate on the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL).
Sapura made their debut in the MJHL this year and won the Division Two title to earn promotion to the top league.
“Most of our players live out of Kuala Lumpur and considering we will have to keep an eye on them and also provide accommodation is too costly and time consuming,” said Sapura manager Louis Gregory.
“We have decided to pull out and concentrate on the senior squad for the coming year. The MHL is more important and the dates are too close. ”
The 2013 MHL is scheduled to begin on March 22.
Sapura have yet to inform the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) about their withdrawal.
